I am so pleased to officially announce the St. Mary Medical Center Foundations Capital Campaign "Expanding on Excellence: Your Health, Your Hospital." The Campaign will support a $70 million expansion to better serve our communitys healthcare needs. The projects include: expansion of the emergency department to accommodate 105,000 annual visits, expansion of the surgery department, a new 20 bed Intensive Care Unit, expansion of inpatient facilities, and other improvements.

For just over a year the St. Mary Foundation has been involved in the quiet phase of the Campaign, meaning that weve met with those individuals closest to us to provide the large, early gifts. Now we ready to kick off our Campaign by publicly announcing to the community that weve raised over $4.9 million toward our $8 million target! Thanks so much to the many generous donors who value truly excellent healthcare right here in their backyards. And to our more than 75 volunteer Campaign leaders whose hard work and dedication have helped us to achieve our success to date. On Wednesday May 11th we celebrated our success to date with a Campaign Kick-Off celebration.

But our mission is not over and our goal not yet accomplished. We still have an ambitious campaign ahead of us as we reach out to the wider community to engage them in the plans for the future of St. Mary Medical Center. As the healthcare needs in our area grow and change St. Mary Medical Center is committed to being the preeminent source for advanced medical treatment in our area. The Campaign for "Expanding on Excellence: Your Health, Your Hospital" illustrates our commitment to you, our community to always be here when you need us most. I am proud and privileged to serve as co-chair to the campaign, work with just a great group of people and to extend an invitation to all of you who have not yet involved to join me in supporting the Campaign for St. Mary and help us to continue our mission of treating the mind, body and spirit of all of those in need of care.
