Last year, more than 60,000 patients were cared for by our Emergency Services. We are committed to providing the best possible service and facility. We have implemented a computerized registration system and expanded our emergency services to meet the growing needs of our community.
The St. Mary Trauma Center is one of 27 regional trauma centers to meet the tough standards required for accreditation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundations (PTSF). Our Trauma Center is fully equipped to handle all types of immediate care needs. From severely injured accident victims and patients requiring immediate critical care to the prompt and effective treatment of a broken bone or deep laceration, trauma-certified physicians and specially trained clinical personnel excel in providing quality standards of professional care. The St. Mary Trauma Team is designed to coordinate multiple aspects of treatment and follow-up care.
The trauma center includes state-of-the-art trauma bays with immediate access to diagnostic services and a sterile operating-room environment. Trauma patients are given priority admission and immediate access to full services, including OR and CAT scan.
Dedicated Pediatric Unit
St. Mary currently treats approximately 7,000 pediatric patients each year, and the need for pediatric care is growing rapidly in the community. St. Mary is the only hospital in Bucks County with a dedicated pediatric emergency care center, and that includes a separate venue for pediatric triage. Pedicatric emergency care is provided 24/7 by a highly qualified pediatric staff in a unique setting specifically designed to reduce stress and reassure children and their parents.
