Advanced Care Close to Home

St. Mary Medical Center offers advanced orthopedic care in a convenient close-to-home setting. Our medical professionals have attained the highest levels of credentials, specialty training and experience and provide advanced treatments, techniques and technology in orthopedic, sports medicine, pain management and trauma services. Our orthopedic specialists treat a wide range of conditions that can affect mobility or cause pain and discomfort. These include fractures, orthopedic trauma, and diseases of the neck, spine, hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, hand and foot.

Comprehensiveness and convenience are key elements in the Center's approach. We provide a full continuum of care — diagnostics, modern surgical techniques, therapy, education, prevention, wellness, and fitness — in a single setting. In addition we continue to develop innovative programs involving wellness, fitness, physical and occupational therapies and holistic healing.

Specialized Orthopedic Operating Rooms

St. Mary Medical Center has two dedicated orthopedic surgical suites. The suites enable St. Mary to care for the growing number of patients who require orthopedic procedures, such as hip and knee replacements. With these specialized operating rooms, St. Mary is able to provide the latest technical and medical capabilities to manage virtually any orthopedic surgical need.

Each suite is specially equipped to handle minimally invasive procedures, total and partial joint replacement, sports injuries, spine and back surgery, hand surgery, trauma, and other sophisticated orthopedic procedures.

The purposefully designed environment enables our highly skilled surgeons to perform the most sophisticated procedures. It brings together specialized tools such as arthroscopic equipment, real-time electronic and radioscopic visualization abilities, boom-mounted systems for ease of movement, computerized monitoring and recording systems, and procedure-specific equipment that brings the highest level of technology to our surgical teams. The orthopedic suites are much larger than standard operating rooms further enhancing the specialized care provided.

The Orthopedic OR suites make it possible for St. Mary to manage a rapidly increasing number of procedures, such as hip and knee replacements. The need for orthopedic surgical capabilities in the region is growing at an exceptional rate that is anticipated to continually increase with the aging the Bucks County area population. In the past year alone, St. Mary orthopedic surgical procedures represented about 2,200 of the more than 12,000 operations performed at St. Mary.
